Their dubwise and improvisational live show, reinforced with a credible dance floor philosophy, is truly unmissable! In November 2014, their first premium live show in Asia finally comes to fruition!

2012年初頭にブリストルのとある地下室で行なわれた初のライブ・パフォーマンス以来、ヨーロッパ各地のクラブ／フェスティバルを席巻中の、ペヴァラリスト（本名：トム・フォード）、カウトン（本名：ジョー・カウトン）、アスス（本名：クレイグ・ステネット）の3名によるダンスミュージック・レーベル兼ライブ・プロジェクト、”LIVITY SOUND”（リビティ・サウンド）。「ダブの手法とサウンドシステム・カルチャーをルーツとした、未加工で荒々しく実験精神に溢れたUK産テクノ」とメンバー自ら形容する彼らの音楽は、最高のサウンドシステムで映えるようにアレンジされた、五臓六腑にまで響きわたる威力抜群の重低域の音圧と、素晴らしいリズムとリズムの相互作用を基本とし、太古の記憶と同時に未来的なヴィジョンをも幻視させる、いま我々が生きるこの時代のダンスミュージックである。

そこではガラージ、グライム、ジャングル、ベースミュージックなどの過去のUKダンスミュージックの豊富なエッセンスと、テクノ／ハウスが持つ飽くなき実験精神がふんだんに取り込まれつつ、余分な要素が最小限にまでそぎ落とされ、メンバー3人のフィルターを通じて完全に一つの『個』として存在するまでに有機的に結合している。その音楽的な成果は2013年、オンライン・エレクトロニックミュージック・マガジン[RESIDENT ADVISOR] 誌上で”LIVITY SOUND”が年間No.1レーベルに選ばれた事により、世界中のフリ－ク達に知られる事となった。

現在は3人によるライブ・プロジェクトとしてヨーロッパ各地を回っていて、そのハードウェア主体で行なわれるダブワイズかつ即興性の高いライブ・パフォーマンスは、会場となったクラブ／フェス各所で絶賛されており、とりわけ8月初旬にアムステルダムで開催され、DJ HARVEYや3 CHAIRSらがヘッドライナーとして出演し話題となった[DEKMANTEL FESTIVAL 2014]のアフターパーティーでのライブは、オンライン・エレクトロニックミュージック・マガジン[XL8R]の誌上で、「”LIVITY SOUND”のライブはアメイジングだった。それは明らかに我々がその日そこで観た出演者の中で最良のものだった」とレポートされる程の出色の内容であった。そしていよいよこの秋、”LIVITY SOUND”の3人が満を持して、国内随一のサウンドシステムを擁する恵比寿リキッドルームにやってくる！

迎え撃つ国内勢は、近年テクノのみならずレフトフィールドなハウスやベース・ミュージックを取り混ぜた、予測不能なプレイを得意にしているFUTURE TERROR主宰DJ NOBU。2013年初頭にベース・ミュージックにハウス・フュージョン的解釈を施した、ワン・アンド・オンリーなミックスCD [SF mixed by MOODMAN] をリリースした事も記憶に新しい、HOUSE OF LIQUIDのレジデントDJ MOODMAN。そして今回HOL初登場となる、ストリートウェアブランド[C.E]のディレクターであり、過去にはMo’ WaxのA&RやXL Recordings内でのレーベル主宰というキャリアを持つTOBY FELTWELLの3人。

Livity Sound is the label and dance music live project trio of Peverelist, Kowton and Asusu. Their very first live performance took place in a basement in Bristol in early 2012 and they have since played regularly at clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Based on dub methods and sound system culture, the trio’s music, with tracks cut loud for optimal sound system use, and considered a raw and exploratory strain of UK techno, is rooted by dazzling rhythmic interplay and dread sub-bass pressure that floods from speaker stacks to shake your organs and rattle your nervous system. It is dance music for those living in this era, evoking ancient memories as well as futuristic vision.

Taking in an insatiably exploratory ethos rooted in techno and house, the abundant essences, extracted from UK dance music history, such as UK garage, grime, jungle and bass music, while stripping them down, are organically solidified into their own independent entity through the trio’s filters. The result is that Livity Sound was chosen as 2013 label of the year on Resident Advisor, an online electronic music magazine, and known to music heads around the world.

Recent years have seen the trio’s live project travelling around Europe, obtaining praise at each and every club and festival for their hardware-centred dubwise improvisational performance. At an after party for Dekmantel Festival in early August this year, headlined by the likes of DJ Harvey, 3 Chairs, online electronic music magazine XLR8R, reported that the trio’s performance “sounded amazing. It was definitely the best thing we saw at the Dekmantel after party.” Finally, this autumn, long-awaited Livity Sound emerges at Ebisu Liquidroom installed with the greatest sound system in Japan!

Confronting them are DJ Nobu, Future Terror party’s boss with his honed yet characteristically unpredictable set combining leftfield house and bass music with techno, and Moodman, House Of Liquid’s resident who, in early 2013, released “SF” mix, reinterpreting bass music as house fusion. In addition, Toby Feltwell, former boss of an XL recordings label, A&R in Mo’ Wax, and currently a director of street wear brand C.E, is joining them.

UKガラージからの影響を色濃く反映したブロークン・ビーツとヘビーな低音を組み合わせることによって今までにない独自のグルーヴを提唱し続けるペヴァラリスト。グライムのエッセンスをテクノ・ハウスに落とし込んだダーティーでざらついた音楽の在り方を新たに提唱し、1つのスタイルへと昇華させたカウトン。ダブワイズな音響処理と確かな技術に裏付けられたプロセッシングを硬質なビートに施した中毒性のある高純度のミニマル・ミュージックを展開するアスス。LIVITY SOUNDは、そうした3つの突出した個性による相乗効果によって、単なる足し算ではなく、三位一体となった1つの「個」を創出してきたライブ・プロジェクト兼レーベルだ。ダブステップの潮流が大型レイヴの方向へと進行し、サウンドシステムの起源から離れていく中、ダンス・ミュージックにおける既存の枠組を取り払い拡張する、という根幹となる視点を維持し続け、新たな領域を積極的に切り開こうとする三者の意思が結実したものだと言ってもいい。その意思はハードウェアを中心としたライブセットの中でも有機的に絡み合い、ダブ・エフェクトと即興性を活かした、まさに”セッション”と呼ぶに相応しいパフォーマンスを繰り広げることにつながっている。3人がこれまでに受けてきた音楽的な影響を抽出したものから生まれたソロ作、および共作は、それゆえにUKガラージ、テクノ、ハウス、ジャングルなど多くの方向性へとリンクしていくことが可能な音楽性を孕んでいる。この点こそ、多くのリスナーを魅了している理由であり、Resident Adviserにおける2013年レーベル・オブ・ザ・イヤーにも選ばれた要因の1つだろう。今年に入り、彼らの音楽が持つ拡張性を示すかのように、 Surgeon、Nick Hoppner、Kassem Mosse、A Made Up Sound、Ron Morelli、MMMの他、広範囲に渡るリミキサー陣が、LIVITY SOUNDの作品を手がけている。現在進行形のUKアンダーグラウンドを体現するLivity Soundのライブセット、またとないこの機会をぜひとも逃さないでほしい。

Peverelist, an underground missionary of the unprecedented, idiosyncratic groove combining broken beat reflecting on his influence from UK garage with heavy bass; Kowton, a leading proponent of a  new style of dirty, rough textured music in which techno and house are smudged with the essence of grime; and Asusu, a musical practitioner of highly hypnotic pure minimal with solid beats guaranteed by his dubwise sound processing and credible skills, Livity Sound is  a label and live project trio of those distinctive identities generating a synergistically multiplied entity rather than the mere sum of addition. It is the fruition of their fervour to actively explore new territory, pushing the envelope on dance music while the main stream side of dubstep evolved into big-room rave music and pulled away from its sound system origins. The desire organically leads to a truly jamming hardware-centred performance deploying dub effects and improvisational propulsion. By drawing on their various influences, their collaborations and solo works contain an aesthetic linking them to diverse underground mutations including UK garage, techno, house and jungle. That is one of the reasons Livity Sound has attracted so many listeners and was awarded as Resident Advisor’s 2013 label of the year. 2014 has seen the label provide a splendid array of remixes by the likes of Surgeon, Nick Hoppner, A Made Up Sound, Pangaea, MMM, Beneath, Ghost-202 (Ron Morelli & Svengalisghost), MM/KM (Kassem Mosse & Mix Mup), Dresvn, Tessela and Stenny & Andrea, proving the trio’s musical extensibility. 80年代末に活動開始。高橋透、宇川直宏とタッグを組んだ〈GODFATHER〉、〈HOUSE OF LIQUID〉、〈SLOWMOTION〉等のレジデントパーティーの他、TAICOCLUB、Freedommune、Raw Lifeなど、インディペンデントな屋外フェスへ多数出演。記念すべき第一回のDJを担当したDommuneでは、自身の番組＜Moodommune＞を不定期で放送している。2013年、約6年ぶりにオフィシャルミックスCD『SF mixed by MOODMAN』を発表した。

Moodman is an Japanese DJ, and founder of DUB RESTAURANT label. His career has started from late ’80’s. His residency GODFATHER (together with Toru Takahashi and Naohiro Ukawa known as DOMMUNE), SLOWMOTION and HOUSE OF LIQUID has long been a favorite parties by night-birds in Japan. He has also played at a type of independent parties and festivals such as TAICOCLUB, FREEDOMMUNE and legendary RAW LIFE party. He was the memorable first DJ of internet broadcasting station DOMMUNE. Thereafter, he has been put a his own program “MOODOMMUNE” on the air randomly. In 2013 he released his official mix CD [SF mixed by MOODMAN] for the first time in 6 years.

英国生まれ。96年よりMo’Wax RecordsにてA&Rを担当。その後XL Recordingsでレーベルを立ち上げ、Dizzee Rascalをサイン。03年よりNIGO®の相談役としてA Bathing Ape®やBillionaire Boys Club/Ice Creamなどに携わる。05年には英国事務弁護士の資格を取得後、東京へ移住。11年、Sk8ightTing、Yutaka.Hと共にストリートウエアブランドC.Eを立ち上げる。

Born in England. 1996-2003 A&R at Mo’Wax Records. FUTURE TERROR、Bitta主宰／DJ。NOBUの活動のスタンスをひとことで示すなら、”アンダーグラウンド”――その一貫性は今や誰もが認めるところである。とはいえそれは決して1つのDJスタイルへの固執を意味しない。非凡にして千変万化、ブッキングされるギグのカラーやコンセプトによって自在にアプローチを変え、自身のアンダーグラウンドなリアリティをキープしつつも常に変化を続けるのがNOBUのDJの特長であり、その片鱗は、[Dream Into Dream](tearbridge), [ON](Musicmine), [No Way Back](Lastrum), [Creep Into The Shadows](Underground Gallery)など、過去リリースしたミックスCDからも窺い知る事が出来る。近年は抽象性の高いテクノ系の楽曲を中心に、オーセンティックなフロアー・トラック、複雑なテクスチャーを持つ最新アヴァン・エレクトロニック・ミュージック、はたまた年代不詳のテクノ／ハウス・トラックからオブスキュアな近代電子音楽など、さまざまな特性を持つクセの強い楽曲群を垣根無くプレイ。それらを、抜群の構成力で同一線上に結びつける。そのDJプレイによってフロアに投影される世界観は、これまで競演してきた海外アーティストも含め様々なDJやアーティストらから数多くの称賛や共感の意を寄せられている。最近ではテクノの聖地を中心に定期的にヨーロッパ・ツアーを行っているほか、台湾のクルーSMOKE MACHINEとも連携・共振し、そのネットワークをアジアにまで拡げ、シーンのネクストを模索し続けている。

NOBU’s stance as a DJ can be best described as underground — his persistence is undisputed. However, that should not be confused with stylistic inflexibility. Rather, his approach is singular and ever-changing, constantly modified and adjusted to the quality and the concept of each gig he plays. He keeps it all underground, yet he manages to mutate it. It is this ability that makes him stand out, as can be heard on his official mixes such as [Dream Into Dream] (tearbridge), [ON] (Musicmine), [No Way Back] (Lastrum) and [Creep Into The Shadows] (Underground Gallery.)
In recent years, he has been programming his set around highly abstract techno with authentic floor anthems, textured avant-electronic music as well as unknown house tracks, along with even more obscure contemporary electronic pieces. He excels in threading challenging tracks from his wide repertoires into a compelling story.
What he could present on the dance floor with his DJ set has gained much love and applause, even among many international acts he shared the stage with. Lately, he has been touring regularly to Europe including several appearances at the techno institution Berghain, collaborating with Smoke Machine crew from Taiwan, building his network worldwide to explore his new frontiers.
